iF material award 2010

for our product lines lightpanel and wavepanel

Highest design and product quality was our declared goal when we developed both our innovative product lines and then presented them to an international jury. And we were successful! During this year’s iF material award we made a double score: We received this much sought-after award in the category “Material” for our surface product “Wavepanel” and in the category “Products” for our custom-made LED-light emitting surfaces “Lightpanel”.

The award ceremony took place in March 2010 at the CeBIT Special Exhibition “d⁶ DESIGN TO THE POWER OF SIX”.

The iF Competitions: Simply Excellent

Since its introduction in 1953, the iF award is a constant and renowned trademark when it comes to “excellent” design. The iF label awarded by international experts is a synonym for reliability and tested design quality. Companies and designers use it as visible sign in their communication, thereby offering market orientation in connection with their products and their creative ideas.

Selecting the right material is one of the decisive factors in realising a good and sustainable product design. More and more, exceptional products are the result the innovative and efficient use of materials.

Every year manufacturers, creative and technical designers, developers and architects are invited to participate in the competition for the iF material award and to provide their input in the categories material, products and processes in order to win one of the coveted awards.

We are very proud that we were able to win two of these prizes with our Designpanel products “Wavepanel” and “Lightpanel” in the categories material and product during the competition in 2010.

Evaluation criteria in the category “material” are, among others, innovation, environmental compatibility and development potential. In the category “products” additional evaluation criteria are workmanship, design quality, functionality and safety.
